Humans have begun hunting monsters nearby, and with the forced flocking of monsters to hard-to-reach areas, desperate monsters have begun hunting each other to survive.

The strongest among you have grown bold enough to gather together, playing on each others' instincts to hunt weaker monsters. They are known to all the wyverns and dragons for miles around as the "Mafia".

However, fear not, monsters, justice is afoot. Your heroes have gathered, ready to defeat the vile Mafia. They can't do so without your help, however. Before hunters kill you, and before the Mafia consumes you...

Become the king of the animal kingdom! Can you build a civilization that will stand the test of time!?... probably not, but you can at least avoid getting eaten, probably... possibly.

Just minding his own business, eating a cactus as he has no need for meatstuffs, Diablos was living the good life. However, for every herbivore, a carnivore or omnivore exists to consume.

The other monsters chose not to warn Diablos of impending doom when suddenly Ave, the Hunter, appeared to beat it to death with a hammer. Everyone knows hammers are a stupid weapon to fight it with, but Ave was a badass and chose to hunt it not only with a hammer, but Alluring Lotus, basically the crappiest of fully-upgraded hammers. As it took blow to the head upon blow to the head, it became stunned, seeing two, three, even four Hunters... did a full party come...? Why did nobody try to stop them?? WHY AM I BEING BEAT TO DEATH WITH A FLOWER!?

THE CACTI ARE TAKING REVENGE!

Knowing it was in peril, it tried to dig its way to its nest, but this only sealed its doom. Somehow the hunters knew where it slept. They set explosive barrels near its face, and finished it with one final "BOOM!"

Scouting out into the sandy plains, a lone Rathian heard the screams of a Diablos. However, beyond its view swam a mighty Jhen Mohran in the sea of sand. Before Rathian could react, a clump of dirt smacked it out of the sky.

It fell, stunned, and landed inside of Jhen Mohran's mouth. The first of the Mafia's victims was the mighty Detective.

Her last thought was "I-it's not like I liked you, you know!"

I wanted a tsundere Rathian and I got one.
